| Smooth Out Images |
|
Some images come with wrinkles or smudges when saved as jpg or gif extensions. There are different ways to correct those as much as we possibly can (and ways to prevent them). I have two before and after examples for both ways. Seeing as different images require different attention, I reccomend testing out each of them. These techniques are usually used when you have lost the original image and have no other way to repair it. Way #1 Simple to do but doesn't allow you to choose how much blur you want on the image. This is good for getting the jagged edges out of small illustrations (when used properly) but isn't as great with images with lots of detail because the blur kills some of those important details. BEFORE / AFTER We'll be focusing on trying to get the fuzzies out of the sky. 1. Open up your image. Effects > Blur > Soften. 2. To make sure your image doesn't go back to wrinkly/smudgey when you save it again, you'll have to save the image with either a png or optimized jpg/gif extension. Way #2 Simple to do and isn't as limited as #1 when it comes to customizing the amount of smoothness you want to put into the image. It also tends to look better than #1 on images with lots of detail. BEFORE / AFTER We'll be focusing on trying to get the fuzzies out of the sky. 1. Open up your image. Effects > Noise > Edge Preserving Smooth. 2. Set the bar to 2. To make sure your image doesn't go back to wrinkly/smudgey when you save it again, you'll have to save the image with either a png or optimized jpg/gif extension. |
