| JPG Quality |

Note: For those with Photoshop, I reccomend using it over PSP for better jpg quality. Using this technique in PSP can decrease the damage done to jpgs a great deal, however PS can do this more professionally and accurately. Refer to my tutorial on JPG Quality (PS) here. The problem with saving images to a jpg extension is that it sometimes ruin the quality of the image. Most people avoid jpg extensions and stick to png extensions to layouts. However if the layout is too big, sometimes the png can take too long to load. This annoys the visitors and the owner. The dilemma we have is this: stick to a png extension with good quality but poor loading time, or a jpg extension with poor quality and fast loading time? As you click File > Save in PSP and then choose the jpg extension, click options (before you save) and set the bar to 1, then save. Now you can have better quality jpgs and still load fast! |
